Tennis Court Update

The tennis courts have been power-washed for the season and prepped for the addition of three additional games this month to make the area more useful to more owners.

In addition to tennis, we also now have...

1. Pickle Ball Pickle-ball is a great game for adults and children to play together. It combines elements of badminton, ping pong, and tennis. Pickle-ball is played with a wood paddle (similar to ping pong) and on a court that is the same layout as a badminton court, using a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis, and a wiffle ball. Oddly, nothing in pickle-ball resembles a pickle.

Additional information about improvements to the pool/tennis court area, including the reclaiming of the flooded area by the tennis courts are located here.

2. Cornhole. Cornhole, also known bean bag toss, is a popular outdoor game for adults whereby 2-4 players take turns throwing 16 ounce bags of corn kernels at a raised platform (the board) with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the board scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches or exceeds the score of 21. This game uses cancellation scoring.

3. Shuffleboard Deck shuffleboard (also known as floor shuffleboard) is casual social game, popular on cruise ships in which 2-4 players use a cue to push colored disks, down a court to place their disks within a marked scoring area. The new additions will add to the current amenities which include swimming/sunning, tennis, biweekly senior exercise classes, as well as as gated off-leash dog exercise "park".
